Kelly Lie, head coach at College Orchard, is known for her exceptional interpersonal skills and sense of humor. Kelly believes in creating a positive and uplifting coaching relationship that motivates her advisees to do their best while having fun along the way. She loves the atmosphere of a college campus and often makes time to visit colleges & universities while on vacation.
Kelly is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, and attended the University of Pittsburgh for her Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on Higher Education Administration.
She is a former director of admissions, and has held roles in student development, residence life, and has been an advisor to sororities and fraternities. She has a breadth of understanding when it comes to various school sizes and experiences in higher education having worked at a small graduate school program (Kent State’s College of Podiatric Medicine), a mid-size institution (Carnegie Mellon), and a large public university (UC, Berkeley). In all situations, Kelly considers her student connections a valuable part of her resume.
Kelly’s background gives her a unique perspective with each student. Her attention, especially with details and organization, is at the forefront of what she does.
Based in Seattle, Kelly can meet locally in person, or across regions and time zones with virtual meet ups.
I am pleased to share I have completed the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s certificate program in postsecondary school counseling.
